Abortion

Matthew and Olivia are a couple that have been dating for over a year, they are both in their sophomore year of college and just trying to make their way through it. However, they have found with news that will change their lives drastically.

Matthew is visiting Olivia at her home after she had asked him to come over. He walks into her home and greets her.

I:  Hey Olivia, what’s up?

C: Hey Matthew! Nothing just eating.

I: Listen about the other night….

C: Yea… we have to talk.

I: Shit! What do you want to talk to me about?

C: I have something to tell you.

I: Ohh yea, what’s going on?

C: Okay well turns out, I’m pregnant.

I: Hahaha, you’re funny.

C: No, I’m serious.

I:  You’re playing right? Please tell me you’re playing.

C: No, I’m not.

I: What the hell? how is that even possible?

C: What do you think, are you stupid?

I: Hmmm, I told you to get off.

C: Why are you so childish? I don’t get it.

I: You know what? What is done is done, now let’s just go to the hospital. Come on.

C: Hospital?! Why?

I: What do you mean “why?” For an abortion, let’s go.

C: I’m not having an abortion that’s murder. Are you crazy?

I: Am I crazy? What do you mean you don’t want to have an abortion. You aren’t even killing anybody, it’s a fetus not a person.

C: Yes, it definitely is murder, the life of this baby began at conception and it has a right to live. This is the consequence of our actions.

I: It’s not because there’s other options that wouldn’t drastically change our lives, like abortion. I mean how are we supposed to provide for a baby when we can barely provide for ourselves.

C: … That’s true, but aren’t abortions dangerous? What if I die!

I: You won’t die, stop being dramatic abortions are safe. You know we can’t do this we aren’t ready.

C: I wouldn’t be able to life with myself.

I: But we have to, we can’t take care of this baby. We’re just two teenagers and we’d be doing the right thing.

C: No, you are a teenager, you can’t take care of the baby. The right thing doesn’t involve terminating a life.

I: Why? You’d be terminating our lives, we’re too young, how are we supposed to graduate college with a baby!

C: We’ll now your being dramatic, a baby isn’t going to kill us. Many people have graduated college with a baby with the right support.

I: I don’t want my baby to live without my full support. I don’t want to have a child without being able to take care of them.

C: Well, that’s you. I’m going to do it and that’s it.

I: Why are you… you know you can’t do this right? That’s my baby too. You can’t decide all just by yourself and ignore my decision. This wouldn’t of happen if I wasn’t part of this.

C: Yeah but this baby is in MY belly and it’s MY choice. It’s growing inside my body so I’m the only one that can decide for it.

I: Are you really going to do this? You really believe that you can do this?

C: Yes. With or without you, I’m having this baby.

I: Well, if you decided that you want to have this baby, then I’m not going to leave you. Screw it. We’re going to have this baby together.
